TWO former racing greyhounds called Holly and Santa are seeking a new home.
The dogs, aged four and five respectively, have retired from the sport but are now in need of long-term homes.
Holly, a bitch, is the smaller of the two and is said to be very gentle and good with other dogs and people.
Santa is a slightly bigger dog than the average greyhound and is described as a "very pretty, bouncy dog" who is also good with people.
He, however, needs an owner with a strong personality who would be able to control him.
Both dogs are in temporary homes in Hetton-le-Hole, Wearside.
They have been vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.
An adoption fee is applicable for anyone interested in adopting one or more of them.
A home visit would also be carried out to see whether a potential new home is suitable.
