PLANS to attract funds for improved sports facilities in Osmotherley may receive a boost.
At present, Osmotherley Parish Council and local community groups alone try to acquire funding. Under a North York Moors National Park proposal, that would change.
It calls for those seeking funding to work with Osmotherley Primary School to improve their chances.
A future scheme could result in the parish council securing grants to buy land for sport and leisure.
An action group will also be set up to look at extending facilities at the nearby Thimbley sports field.
Money is also sought to go towards improving a village centre park and better footpaths between Osmotherley and Thimbley.
