SCHOOLCHILDREN are helping to increase England's woodland by recycling old Yellow Pages directories.
Over the next eight weeks, thousands of pupils will be taking part in the Yellow Woods Challenge, working with the Woodland Trust and Hartlepool Borough Council.
Yellow Pages is offering a share of £600 in cash prizes to schools that recycle the most old directories per pupil, plus a bonus prize of £100 for the most improved school in this year's local challenge.
For every pound awarded to schools, the Woodland Trust will receive the same amount.
The competition closes locally on February 16.
