A YOUTH theatre group is celebrating two donations that have provided them with important equipment.
Willington Youth Theatre received a grant of £5,349 from Awards For All - and a further donation from Durham Land Registry's children's fund.
The Awards For All grant has helped buy a digital camera, laptop and printer, video editing suite and projector.
The equipment will enable youngsters, seven and upwards, to take photos, then use the laptop and projector to produce static and moving backdrop scenes.
The members can also learn how to edit and create work on DVD, while part of the grant will enable session workers and senior members to undergo further training.
Session worker in charge Christina Jackson said: "After being involved in the start of the group, it would be nice to envisage that, when I retire, I'm leaving a good team of workers to carry on the work."
The Durham Land Registry donation provided a karaoke DVD machine, which members used to hold their own version of X-Factor. The event was won by Emma Thirkell.
