A NORTH-East couple died in a road accident on Christmas Eve.
Their Honda Accord collided with a Vauxhall Astra on the A1 at the High Laws junction near Morpeth, Northumberland.
The 64-year-old man and 47-year-old woman from Hetton Le Hole, Wearside, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident happened at 2.40pm on Christmas Eve.
The driver and passenger of the Vauxhall Astra, a 32-year-old woman and her 13-year-old son, from Newport-on-Tay, Fife, were taken to hospital.
The mother suffered numerous broken bones and her son sustained a pelvis injury.
They were taken to Newcastle General Hospital and the boy was later transferred to the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle.
