A COUPLE have won a laptop computer after helping health managers decide what services should go into a new centre.
Harry and Marjorie Sumpton, from Horden, near Peterlee, won the computer after filling in a questionnaire about services to be included in a proposed healthy living resource centre for Easington Colliery.
County Durham Primary Care Trust (PCT) sent out 6,000 leaflets and questionnaires asking residents what facilities and activities they wanted to see in the new centre, on the site of the former Waterworks building at Paradise Lane.
Fiona Gillespie, centre co-ordinator for the PCT, said: "The new centre will provide a focal point for the local community and give a range of organisations and community groups an opportunity to address real issues which affect the quality of life of the Easington community.
"The questionnaire and leaflet gave us the opportunity to raise awareness of the project and plans for the new Healthy Living Resource Centre.
