A PLAN has been published to ensure disabled people can gain access to council services.
Richmondshire District Council's disability equality scheme was created after consultation with residents, local support groups and the council's member champions.
It looks at delivering services, employment, access to buildings, communications, training and participation in council business.
Councillor Linda Curran, member champion for disability issues, said: "The scheme is one way of ensuring we promote good equality practices and meet the needs of disabled service users and staff."
The scheme is available online, with an easy-read version and a summary of feedback gained during consultation. A comments form is also included at www.richmondshire.gov.uk
