AN organisation set up to help create a positive future for a Teesside town is celebrating a hat-trick of top awards.
The Hartlepool Partnership has received a green light for performance - the highest award within the Neighbourhood Renewal Unit Traffic Light System - from the Government Office for the North-East.
It is the third time that the Local Strategic Partnership has received a green light.
The performance of the Hartlepool Partnership was assessed against a number of national targets set by the Government. These cover a range of issues including education, the economy, health, the environment, housing and crime.
Hartlepool MP Iain Wright, who is chairman of the partnership, said: "I am extremely pleased that the Hartlepool Partnership has been recognised as one of the highest-performing in the country.
"This reflects the hard work and dedication of the organisations, voluntary groups and individuals, who contribute a tremendous amount to improving Hartlepool."
Joanne Smithson, from the partnership, added: "We are constantly working with residents and outside agencies to secure a positive future for the town, and this accolade is proof of the dedication from all concerned."
The partnership is working on a revised community strategy document for the town, which will set out its vision for the next ten to 15 years.
