SANTA ditched his usual mode of transport for something a little faster to raise cash for charity.
Volunteers donned hats and beards to brave icy conditions and thick fog to get on their motorbikes and ride from Thornaby fire station in aid of children's hospice Zoe's Place.
The Normanby hospice, which cares for children with serious medical conditions, relies on charitable donations to keep its doors open and welcomed Santa's present.
Event organiser Brian Laverick said: "Usually it is common to take presents for the children but on advice from the hospice staff, because of the children's medical conditions, the type of suitable presents is extremely restricted.
"It was decided that each rider and pillion would bring cash for the hospice, and a box of chocolates, biscuits or bottle of wine for the carers who carry out a fantastic job."
