A COUNTRY pub's £300,000 refit will boost local charities with an auction of old fittings.
The Crown and Anchor, in Front Street, Sowerby, is closing for a three-month refurbishment shortly.
But before then, the old fixtures and fittings, including glasses, will be sold.
Also among the auction lots are meals at local restaurants, a brewery tour, wines and local produce.
The funds raised will go to Ashlands House, in Northallerton, the Neil Project, in Sowerby, and the British Heart Foundation.
Landlady Layla Weston said: "We really want the night to make a big difference for the chosen charities and encourage anyone who might be able to help or support us to get in touch."
The auction will take place in the pub at 8pm on Wednesday.
