TEACHERS and staff proved to be in fine voice when they sang Christmas carols and raised £500 for charity.

Northallerton College staff entertained students during a morning break with their renditions of Yuletide classics.

Senior staff in fancy dress, including Father Christmas' elves and Elvis, collected for Butterwick Hospice.

Vice-principal John Kelly said: "Staff have been great and spent hours rehearsing for what proved to be a pretty impressive performance.

"Students were very supportive and we raised a lot of money in a short time for an extremely good cause."
