LEONA Lewis was not the only X Factor winner this week as a County Durham primary school held its own version of the popular talent show.
Youngsters at Coundon Primary School showed off their skills on Wednesday, watched by more than 100 parents and friends.
Performances from the 15 finalists included singing, dancing, acrobatics, football skills, poetry and kick-boxing.
The competition was won by Macauley Aldsworth, who sang James Blunt hits.
The runner-up was The Flexigirls, an acrobatics team made up of Leah Oxley, Courtney Walton and Rachael Lomax.
Joint third were Surprise, a dancing trio of Shannon Cornish, Natalie Simpson and Lauren Dodds, and acrobatics team The Good, The Bad and The Useless, featuring Megan Beel, Bethany Briggs and Kelsey Ames.
The event was organised by learning mentors Zoe Williams and Steven Watson, but the pupils came up with their own ideas.
Deputy headteacher Jonathan Adams compered the event and said that children had done really well.
