PEOPLE were left asking "Where's Blair" at a plaque unveiling for a children's centre yesterday.
Prime Minister Tony Blair uncovered a brushed aluminium plaque as he formally opened The Wingate Sure Start Children's Centre, in County Durham.
The plaque said that the centre had been "formally opened on December 21, 2006, by the Right Honourable Tony Blair MP Prime Minister and Mrs Blair". However, Cherie Blair was nowhere to be seen.
A Labour Party spokesman said: "Cherie was hoping to be there but unfortunately had a last minute case to deal with at court.
