DETECTIVES have released an image from CCTV footage of an armed robbery at a North-East travel agents.
A gunman raided Dawson and Sanderson, in Skinnergate, Darlington, on Friday in broad daylight, while the town was packed with Christmas shoppers.
The robber approached the shop's bureau de change at 10.40am, placed a small black handgun on the counter and demanded cash from the female staff members, before escaping with £5,000 in sterling, euros and US dollars.
Now police have released images from CCTV footage from the incident.
Detectives in Darlington and Hartlepool have confirmed they are linking the incident to a robbery at Travelcare Co-op, in Hartlepool, on Wednesday.
Detective Inspector Paul Harker said the police wanted to hear from anyone who recognised the man in the CCTV footage to contact them.
He added that the man was potentially dangerous and should not be approached.
