A CLERGYMAN has been appointed as a non-executive director of the Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS).
The Reverend Stuart Ellis, from Boroughbridge, joined the board at the invitation of the NHS Appointments Commission, following an open competition.
Mr Ellis was previously a non-executive director of the former Tees, East and North Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
YAS chairman Dr Nick Varey said: "I am delighted that Stuart has been appointed. His expertise and prior experience of the service will further strengthen the board in the demanding times ahead."
Mr Ellis is a Methodist minister, a part-time primary school teacher and involved in local youth, community and charity projects.
