DETAILS of refuse collections over the Christmas holidays have been released.
Residents of Derwentside are being advised of the changes to the dates their bins will be emptied.
Bins due to be emptied on Christmas Day will now be collected on Wednesday, December 27; those due for collection next Tuesday will now be emptied on Thursday, December 28; those scheduled for collection on Wednesday, December 27, will be emptied on Friday, December 29, and those due to be emptied on Thursday, December 28, will now be collected on Saturday, December 30.
The following week will also see changed collection dates. Bins due to be emptied on Monday, January 1, will be emptied on Tuesday, January 2, and, for the rest of the week, bins will be emptied a day later than normal.
Collection dates will return to normal from Monday, January 8.
Residents are also being reminded that wrapping paper and polystyrene cannot be recycled and should be placed in the green bin.
However, Christmas cards should be left in the blue recycling bin.
Derwentside District Council is also making arrangements to recycle Christmas trees.
