A SCHOOL pupil got an early Christmas present when she found out she had won a crime-fighting poster competition.
Holly Blackburn won an iPod in the contest run by Hambleton Community Safety Partnership and Crimestoppers, designed to stop school vandalism by urging pupils to shop those responsible.
Members of the partnership went into each secondary school in Northallerton, Stokesley, Thirsk, Bedale and Easingwold earlier this year to launch the inititiave.
Holly, a pupil at Allertonshire School, in Northallerton, designed a poster which urges people to "stop crime 4 good".
Schools in Hambleton have reported 49 incidents of damage in the past 12 months.
