KEYS to new homes have been delivered in time for Christmas.
Residents have started moving into bunglaows at the £1.6m development, at a site where properties had been demolished.
The two-bedroomed bungalows at Tregarth Close, in the Saltersgill area of Middlesbrough, were built by Affinity Sutton on behalf of William Sutton Housing Association.
There are 18 homes, which offer easy access and include some adapted for wheelchairs.
They replace nine older-style one-bedroomed and bedsit bungalows. A row of disused garages was also demolished, to make way for the homes.
Three of the original residents are moving back, including Tom and Dorothy Horne.
Mr Horne said: "We were a bit wary when we first heard the plans, but the new bungalows are a vast improvement.
"The quality is really high, and it will be much easier for us to get around.
We like living in this area, and it is great that we can remain in the locality, keeping our friends and neighbours, but with a new home which meets our needs."
