IVAN Brett, a well-known figure in North Yorkshire's country life, has died at the age of 78.
Mr Brett, of Snainton, near Scarborough, was a surveyor and manager of Viscount Downe's estate at Wykeham for many years, having previously been estates manager for Scarborough Borough Council.
A private funeral is to be followed by a memorial service at All Saints' Church, Wykeham, on Wednesday.
