A PAMPERED pooch is living up to her name by proving she is a right Christmas cracker.

Cracker the Staffordshire bull terrier lives in a hair salon and spends her days being manicured and fed tidbits while warming her paws under a drier.

Now she has been dubbed Santa Paws after she was given a stylish red fur-trimmed outfit.

Cracker's owner, Jill Loft, who runs Jill's Salon, in York, said: "I called her Cracker because I got her at Christmas when she was five weeks' old.

"She has come to the salon every day since I got her. She waits at the front door for me in the morning and she spends the day asleep under one of the hooded driers.

"She has her own seat. If we are busy, she sulks if she cannot sit on it. She really is pampered.

"The ladies who come here sit and stroke her and tickle her tummy and feed her tidbits."

Her latest treat is the new Santa Claus outfit.

Jill said: "She has a fat belly. I had to buy extra Velcro so it fits.

"She looks so cute in her little hat and jacket."
