POLICE are appealing for information after two bodies were found in a town.
The deaths, in Scarborough, do not appear to be linked, and are being treated as separate cases.
The first body was of a white man believed to be local and in his 40s, who was found by a woman walking her dog at about 8.30am on Thursday.
She called police after she saw the body in a stream in Peasholm Glen, which leads into Peasholm Lake.
A post-mortem examination revealed the man drowned, but police are not yet able to reveal his identity.
They would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything unusual or suspicious in the Peasholm Glen or Peasholm Park area between about 2pm on Wednesday and 8.30am on Thursday.
The second death was that of a local woman in her 20s. Initial tests were inconclusive and further tests are being carried out.
She was found in a flat in New Queen Street on Thursday. She has not been formally identified and her family are still being informed.
Anyone with information is asked to call 01609-768111.
