A BUS company says it has no plans to extend the night bus service it introduced at the start of October - but has not ruled it out entirely.
Go North East launched the N21 to run from 12.15am to 4.15am between Chester-le-Street and Newcastle, to cater for revellers and shift workers.
During the day, the route is covered by the N21, which runs to Durham, with some of the buses going on to Bishop Auckland.
The company was asked during its most recent online feedback session if it would extend the night service to Durham.
Director Peter Huntley said: "We are keeping this under constant review. The launch of the N21 was very much an experiment for us and it will be interesting to see how this service develops with time.
"To extend the service to Durham would cost us an additional vehicle that we cannot sustain at this time.
"However, as patronage grows on it, we may be able to extend it at some point in the future, but there are no current plans to do this.''
