Villagers have produced a blueprint to plan the future of their community.
The plan for Osmotherley, Thimbleby and Sheepwash, was drawn up after questionnaires were sent to villagers.
It includes provisions for small workshops for craftworkers and businesses, improvements to the bus service and after-school activities.
A report to the North York Moors planning committee welcomes the Parish Plan.
Sarah Housden the policy manager said: "It is an impressive document, and will be important in shaping the future of the Osmotherley community."
But she said its success would depend on partnership working with the parish council, National Park Authority, Hambleton District Council and the Yorkshire Rural Community Council.
