ANIMAL lovers are invited to remember their former pets at Christmas and help raise money for charity.
The Saltburn Animal Rescue Association (Sara) has created a memory tree for pets at its shop in Guisborough, east Cleveland.
Visitors are invited to pay a small donation and write a card and message to remember their pet during the festive season.
The Reverend Malcolm Jackson, from St Nicholas' Parish Church, Guisborough, blessed the tree during a ceremony.
Sara volunteer Ann Prosser said: "It was absolutely lovely. He talked about animals being part of families and the loss felt when an animal dies."
The memory tree has so far raised £150 to help re-home animals.
