PUPILS and teachers at a North-East primary school are celebrating after receiving a letter from the Government telling them they were number one in the country.
Schools Minister David Law recently wrote to Our Lady Queen of Martyrs RC Primary School, Esh Winning, near Durham City.
The letter congratulated pupils and teachers on being one of the 105 top performing primary schools in England.
Mr Law also confirmed that the County Durham school was ranked number one in the country when compared with similar schools.
