A DARLINGTON car dealership has swapped selling cars for washing them after pledging to help raise more than £250,000 for a national cancer charity.
Staff at the Evans Halshaw Ford dealership, in Darlington, are taking part in the group’s national charity challenge to raise £260,000 for the charity, Hope for Tomorrow, which, with the help of a mobile treatment centre, brings vital chemotherapy to cancer sufferers closer to their own home.
In a bid to help raise the cash, staff have been taking part in forecourt car washes, bake sales and dressing up days.
Gary Symes, dealer principal at Evans Halshaw Darlington, said: “Hope for Tomorrow is a fantastic cause which makes a difference to thousands of cancer patients and their families, and at Evans Halshaw we’re only too keen to get on board and show our support.
“We’re extremely passionate and proud to be a part of charity challenge, and with plenty of exciting fundraising ideas up our sleeves, we are determined to meet the £260,000 target.”
