A CELEBRATED stand-up will give North-East fans a sneak preview of his sold-out arena tour when he performs an intimate gig in the region.
Russell Howard will try out material for his tour, Wonderbox, at the Funny Way To Be Comedy Club in Barnard Castle, County Durham, on Saturday, November 9.
Howard has become a household name in the UK thanks to his award-winning BBC television show Russell Howard’s Good News.
His appearance, at the newly-refurbished Witham Hall, will be a chance to see the 33-year-old back on stage, doing what he does best.
The comedian will then embark on his first tour in three years, which includes dates at London’s O2 arena and The Royal Albert Hall.
Peter Dixon, of Funny Way To Be Comedy Club, said: "I am thrilled that in preparation for his first live tour in three years Russell Howard has asked to come to our club.
“It's testament to the success we have had over the last three years producing shows that have been enjoyed by audiences and artists alike.
“The fact that a few weeks after he tries out his tour material with us Russell will be selling out venues like the Newcastle Metro Arena, The London 02 and The Royal Albert Hall is incredibly exciting.
“It really puts the rural town of Barnard Castle firmly on the comedy map."
Tickets go on sale at 10am tomorrow morning (Monday, September 30) at funnywaytobe.com, priced £10.
Doors open at 7.30pm.
