VISITORS to a castle should be on the lookout for a fearsome dragon.
The carved beast near Bolton Castle, in Wensleydale, appears to have already finished off one brave knight and is no-doubt hungry for more.
The sculpture was created by Bainbridge chainsaw artist Andris Bergs, who was commissioned by a local resident.
It took the sculptor 32 hours to carve the 20ft dragon from a fallen ash tree.
Mr Bergs said: “The biggest challenge was working in the heat.
“It was really nice to be able to create a dragon in that setting near the castle.
“It has a knight's leg sticking out of its mouth because they have to lose sometimes or else there wouldn't be any dragons left.”
