THE search has begun to find the 20 Face of Redcar to create a permanent exhibition to celebrate the town.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council has teamed up with United Creatives, Tees Valley Unlimited, Network Rail and Northern Rail to find out who local people think are the faces of the town.

It could be a local butcher, school teacher, shop worker, street cleaner or just a familiar face in the town.

Each person nominated will be entered into the final and a specially selected judging panel will choose the final 20.

Those who are picked will take part in a photo-shoot session and will feature as part of a permanent art exhibition at Redcar Central Railway Station.

Councillor Olwyn Peters, cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism, said: “As part of the continued regeneration of Redcar we are planning on making some changes to the railway station and its facilities.

“This exhibition will be a fantastic way for us to highlight what’s in the town and some of the faces that visitors old and new can expect to see. I think it’s a really great idea and hope that everyone has fun whilst choosing their Face of Redcar.”
