A LANDMARK inn in the Yorkshire Dales has gone on the market as a lease opportunity.
The Green Dragon dates from the 13th-century and is also home to Hardraw Force, said to be England’s highest single-drop waterfall above ground.
Inn keeper Mark Thompson and his partner Yvonne have decided to step back from operating the inn - but will retain the waterfall grounds and visitor centre.
Hardraw Force is a popular visitor attraction and found worldwide fame when it was used as a key location for the film Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.
Peter Bean of specialist agency Colliers International said: “The Green Dragon is a very well-known and tremendously characterful country village inn with a superb variety of letting accommodation including letting bedrooms, apartments, a cottage and bunk rooms.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced operator to run a successful and much loved business in a beautiful rural environment."
Colliers International is asking £120,000 for the leasehold interest.
