A DALES farm and cafe has given visitors a woolly experience during a recent open day.
Hazel Brow Farm, in Low Row, near Richmond, held the Woolly Day on Monday, May 27, to show how sheep and alpacas are sheared, before the wool is spun and knitted.
Cath Calvert from the farm said: “Woolly day at Hazel Brow Farm was a great success.
“The woolly market was very popular with woolly crafting from felting to spinning, weaving and knitting going on in the discover room and hand crafted goods for sale.
“Morris dancers entertained guests at lunchtime, and a Heritage Trail turned into quite an adventure for those brave enough to take part through the drizzle, returning to the farm a little later than planned but all enjoyed the experience.
“By the second sheep race of the day we appeared to have one lamb on particularly good form, wearing gold colours in the first race, just beating the favourite Green with Blue in third place. She came in first in the second race as well.”
The next Woolly Day is to be on Tuesday, June 18.
