A DINOSAUR exhibition has proved a roaring success after attracting record-breaking crowds.
Newcastle’s Life Science Centre, which first opened in 2000, set a new visitor record during the opening week of its Age Of The Dinosaur exhibition.
Chief executive Linda Conlon said: "We’ve had an incredibly busy and successful half-term week with 15,800 coming through the doors, thanks to our new dinosaur exhibition."
The exhibition, created by the Natural History Museum, gives visitors an insight into the pre-historic history of dinosaurs. A variety of images, animated models, fossils and 60 re-created specimens, taken from the museum in London, are on display.
It is expected that other activities, such as fossil-finding and a 20-minute educational show will be added over the next few months. The Life Science Centre also possesses the North’s largest planetarium.
‘Age of the Dinosaur’ will remain at the museum until November.
