DETECTIVES investigating the death of a woman, whose body was found in a field, say they are not treating it as suspicious.
The woman’s body was discovered on Saturday (June 1), in a field near the A63, at Monk Fryston between York and Selby.
Now North Yorkshire Police has announced it believes there are no suspicious circumstances and are not looking for anyone else in connection with her death.
Officers will continue their investigations and prepare a report for the coroner.
They believe she was a 51-year-old local woman, although formal identification has not yet been carried out.
The A63 was closed while officers examined the scene and was reopened at 9.20pm on Sunday (June 2).
Superintendent Amanda Oliver, of North Yorkshire Police, said: "I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while the police activity was ongoing over the weekend."
