NORTH-EAST floristry students have been invited to a prestigious national event.
Students from East Durham College, based at the Houghall campus, near Durham City, will compete at the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Flower Show, at Tatton Park, Cheshire, in July.
The theme of the contest is The Galaxy. Colleges from Bath, Neath, Manchester and Bishop Burton have also been invited.
Floristry lecturer Sue Lee said: “It’s a huge honour to be invited to compete at Tatton Park.
“The RHS show at Tatton is a very prestigious event and one of the biggest of the year, so it will be a great experience for the students that are involved with the show.
“It’s still a while off yet but the designs for these shows take a lot of planning, so we are well under way setting out our designs for Tatton.”
