A ONE-MAN touring theatre show will visit the North-East tomorrow (Tuesday, June 4).
Playwright Mike Daisey will take his show The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs, which recounts the life of the late co-founder of Apple Steve Jobs, to the Gala Theatre, in Durham.
The play is the outcome of Mr Daisey’s self-proclaimed worship of Apple and his desire to display how one man was able to prompt significant change in the technological realm.
The play, which will be acted in the form of a monologue by Scotsman Grant O’Rourke, intends to humorously explore the highs and lows of the evolution of Apple’s brain child – the iPhone.
The controversial comedy, which was withdrawn from American radio show The American Life after complaints, received popular acclaim when it was performed at the Edinburgh Fringe festival last summer.
It will be performed for one night only, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost between £7 and £10, and are available by visiting the Gala box office, calling 03000-266-600 or going online to galadurham.co.uk Quote ‘Apple21’ to get two tickets for the price of one.
