ONE of the region’s local authorities is to start screening meetings online.
City of York Council is start a two-month webcasting trial for its cabinet meetings, starting tomorrow, June 4.
During the trial the council will be working with local company Pilot Theatre to allow the public meetings to be viewed live.
And it will also offer an on-line archive where recordings of meetings which have already taken place, can also be viewed.
It is planned that the cabinet meeting on July 16 will also be webcast to the public as part of the trial.
Feedback and statistics from the trial will be monitored and reviewed and a decision will be made on future webcasts. The live webcasts can be viewed by visiting www.york.gov.uk/webcasts
