A PROPOSAL to extend the boundaries of the Yorkshire Dales National Park is to be considered at a public inquiry starting on Tuesday, June 4.
The Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) and the Campaign for National Parks have joined together to support extensions to the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales parks.
The current boundaries of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks were drawn up more than 60 years ago and left out areas of notable landscapes such as Howgill Fells in the Yorkshire Dales and Borrowdale in the Lake District.
The inquiry will open at Kendal in Cumbria on Tuesday.
