A SHOP owner is celebrating after winning a van in a competition for independent retailers.
Dave Hull, 30, who runs The Village Shop at Edmundbyers, near Consett, County Durham, with his girlfriend, Louise Oliver, has received the £15,000 Citroen Berlingo.
The yellow van with the prominent Shredded Wheat design was the prize in the competition run by Nestle and The Big Kick.
Mr Hull said: “It is brilliant and a really welcome boost to a small local company like ours.”
The van will be used for collecting produce for the store as well as making deliveries.
