TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of burglary after they ram-raided a store in Stockton.
The Stockton Running and Cycling retail store on the Bowesfield Industrial Estate, Stockton, was targeted at around 10pm on Wednesday, May 29.
A car was used to ram raid the building and gain access, and five Merida bikes and a till were stolen by thieves.
A Mitsubishi Warrior, believed to have been used in the burglary, was found abandoned on Apsley Way, in Ingleby Barwick, near Stockton, at around 10.50pm the same night. This car had been reported as stolen from the Nunthorpe area on May 27.
The bikes have yet to be recovered and officers are appealing for anyone who may have been offered a bike with this brand name over the last two days to get in touch. They are also asking people to keep their eyes peeled to anyone offering these bikes for sale online.
Two men, aged 27 and 33, are in police custody in connection with the burglary.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.
