A TEENAGER has admitted being a passenger in a stolen car which ploughed into and killed a pedestrian.
Delton O'Neill, 18, admits aggravated vehicle taking and allowing himself to be carried in the stolen Range Rover which collided with Douglas Scott Robertson.
The driver, 15-year-old Charlie Tyers, of High Lane, Maltby, near Middlesbrough, was sentenced to five years behind bars a fortnight ago after he pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving.
Mr Robertson, 27, was dragged more than 100 yards under the Range Rover after being hit as he walked towards a social club in the market town of Stokesley, North Yorkshire on January 19 this year.
The vehicle had earlier been taken by Tyers from outside a house party in Stockton and was doing 70mph in a 30mph zone when the accident happened.
Richard Bennett, for O'Neill, of Rowan Court, Catterick, North Yorkshire, said it was accepted the case passed the threshold for a jail sentence.
Mr Bennett made no application for bail and the defendant was remanded in custody.
Judge John Walford told O'Neill: “You have had the good sense to plead guilty to this charge and that will go in your favour when sentence is passed.”
He will be sentenced at Teesside Crown Court on July 5.
