RUNNERS have the chance to compete in two events in the grounds of a stately home.

The Lambton Estate at Chester-le-Street, County Durham - where TV series Paradise was filmed - will host its third annual 10k and 3k runs on Sunday, June 30 for Sunderland AFC’s Foundation of Light.

The event is for all ages and abilities, from families and fun runners to competitive athletes.

The Foundation of Light is the club’s registered charity of Sunderland AFC, which works across the North- East to inspire, involve and educate children and their families in activities that can improve their lives.

Foundation of Light Event Co-ordinator Katrina Quinn said: “The Lambton runs are a great opportunity for people who want to challenge themselves to do something different this year.

“That said, it’s a fantastic and unique course that will appeal to seasoned veterans and enthusiastic amateurs alike.

“We’d like to offer our public thanks to the Lambton Estate for supporting us for a second year running through this event.”

The minimum age for the 10k run is 17.

The entry fee for UKA members is £12 and £14 for unattached runners. The 3k fee for UKA members is £6 and £8 for others. Runners are asked to raise sponsorship money for the Foundation of Light although this is not a condition of entry.
