TOUR dates have been announced for a new play celebrating the return of the Lindisfarne Gospels to the North-East.
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Durham, by Ed Waugh and Trevor Wood, is a comic look at the history of the region.
It opens at the Gala Theatre, in Durham, from July 2 to 6.
The show will then visit Hamsterley near Bishop Auckland, Berwick, Alnwick, Blyth, the Civic Theatre in Darlington, Consett Empire, Middlesbrough Theatre, Jarrow, The Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle and Whitley Bay, all during July.
