REVISED plans for local access needed for the A1 upgrade between Leeming and Barton in North Yorkshire will go on display for the public next week.
The plans, known as draft supplementary orders, include the proposed route of the local access road between Leeming and Catterick, which has now been finalised; a new bridleway between Brompton-on-Swale and Scurragh House Lane to the east of the A1; and other minor modifications.
Draft Compulsory Purchase Orders and an Environmental Assessment Report have also been made available to view.
There is now a six week period for statutory objections, during which the proposals will be on display at two public exhibitions at the Bridge House Hotel, Catterick. The exhibitions will be held on Thursday, June 6 between 2pm and 8pm, Friday, June 7 between 10am and 8pm, Friday, June 14 from 10am to 8pm, and Saturday, June 15 from 10am to 4pm.
The project aims to improve journey times and increase safety on a 12-mile stretch of the A1, and result in a continuous motorway-standard route between London and Newcastle, including the M1 and A1M.
