A BISHOP has said the confirmation of more than 80 people at Durham Cathedral shows the Church is in good health in the North-East.
Speaking after the service, the Right Reverend Mark Bryant, the Bishop of Jarrow, said: “I said to people at the beginning of the service that when they next heard people saying the Church was dying, they need to tell people that they had been to a confirmation service in which more than 80 people of all ages were making a strong commitment to follow Christ.”
Among those making the commitment were Durham University students Jenny Palmer and Aimee Haddock, both members of St Nicholas’ Church in Durham Market Place.
