SUNDERLAND fans are invited to relive the 1973 FA Cup Final with goalkeeping hero Jimmy Montgomery.

The legendary shotstopper will join Black Cats supporters for a screening of the club’s most famous match to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

The event will take place at Herrington Country Park, in Sunderland, on Saturday, June 15, as part of Sunderland Festival, which runs from June 14 to 16.

The 69-year-old, who made more than 500 appearances for Sunderland, said: “It’s sure to be a lovely family day out.

“It’s great that the win is still remembered. People always want to talk to me about it and how they can remember it.”

The match will be screened at 3pm. There will be live entertainment afterwards, until 8pm. For more information, visit sunderlandlive.co.uk
