POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was beaten up by a gang of men and women in broad daylight.
The 20-year-old victim was attacked at the rear of Ivy Cottages, off Malpas Road, in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, at around 7.30pm last Sunday, May 26, but details have only just been released.
He suffered head injuries in the incident and has since had to have treatment for damage sustained to his eye.
Two men, aged 18 and 23, a 17-year-old male youth and a 41-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the incident and have been released on police bail as the inquiry continues.
However, despite the arrests, officers still need witnesses to come forward and help them with the investigation.
Detective Constable Gary Smith-Owen said: “This was a nasty attack which left the victim needing hospital treatment.
“Fortunately, the victim managed to get to his feet and made it to South Parade where he was helped by members of the public.
“I am appealing to any local residents with information about this incident, to get in touch as soon as possible.”
