COUNTY Durham’s top brass are tuning up for a series of outdoor concerts starting this weekend.
The DLI Museum and Durham Art Gallery in Durham City, is the venue for a series of Sunday afternoon brass band performances throughout June and July.
Pittington Brass kicks off the free concerts on Sunday (June 2) at 2pm.
The programme continues with Murton Colliery Band on June 9 and Durham Constabulary Band on Sunday, June 23.
The museum hosts the Durham County Brass Band Association Contest on Sunday, July 7, with performances starting at 10am and running throughout the day.
On Sunday, July 21, it’s the turn of Ferryhill Town Band, with Bearpark and Esh Colliery Band rounding off the series on Sunday, July 28.
All concerts, excluding the contest on July 7, start at 2pm and are free.
The DLI Café will be serving ice creams and refreshments throughout the performances.
The DLI Museum and Durham Art Gallery is open from 10am to 5pm every day. Usual admission charges apply.
