A NORTH-EAST tribute band will help the Sunderland International Airshow launching a weekend of of spectacular flying events.
Re-Take That will appear at a concert in Cliffe Park, Seaburn, Sunderland on July 26, as the curtain-raiser to the main weekend flying programme on the ensuing Saturday and Sunday.
Music for the evening will also include a performance from Royal Marines Band Scotland.
From 7pm on Friday, a spectacular flying display will include The RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, the Red Arrows, Typhoon and the SWIP Twister Display Team, complete with airborne pyrotechnics. The evening concludes with a spectacular firework display at 10pm.
Chris Alexander, Chief Operating Officer of Sunderland Live, which is delivering Sunderland International Airshow on behalf of Sunderland City Council, said: "We are looking forward to a great time.
“This year we will have exhibitors, catering concessions and fairground rides available from Friday teatime and throughout the weekend.”
