SUNDERLAND rock band The Futureheads will support Bon Jovi at the Stadium of Light.
The four-piece guitar band, all Sunderland fans, have a long association with the club, having previously graced the Stadium of Light pitch in May 2005 and again last summer when they supported Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The band’s top 20 single Beginning of the Twist is played before every home game as Sunderland’s players walk out onto the pitch.
The group are looking forward to performing at the blockbuster gig on June 13.
The Futureheads guitarist Ross Millard said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be supporting Bon Jovi at the Stadium of Light. The stadium is now firmly established as a major music venue and to playing there again, in front of a passionate North-East audience, is a huge honour for us as a band.”
SAFC commercial director Gary Hutchinson said: “It’s great that The Futureheads will once again be performing at the Stadium of Light.
“They are one of the region’s most popular bands and were fantastic when they performed here last year.
“The band are great friends of the football club and have a real connection with us, which I’m sure will make their performance here at the Stadium of Light all the more special for everyone.”
