ENERGY company bosses have apologised, after hundreds of homes in Darlington were left without power.
More than 900 customers in the DL3 postcode area were affected by the outage for about an hour on Bank Holiday Monday morning, Northern Powergrid confirmed.
It is understood the North Road area of the town was particularly badly affected.
The company thanked customers for their patience and apologised for the inconvenience.
Residents in other parts of the town reported a series of short interruptions to the power supply.
One resident in the DL1 postcode area said: “We have had three cut-outs today already, this is the third time in a few months – utterly ridiculous.”
Shops in Horsemarket, in Darlington town centre, were hit by a power cut last week, which also caused the town clock to stop.
